Developing the Power of Practice

For beginners and experienced practitioners of hatha yoga, a workshop to support you in learning how to practice yoga safely and consistently so it takes care of you. For those who have a practice already, there will be mentoring and inspiration for advancing in one's practice, solving problems with creativity, courage, and caution.


Learn how to ignite and fan the flame of your personal practice. Discuss the fundamentals of making a time and place for regular practice.  Principles of sequencing, inspiration for practice, advice for overcoming obstacles, and yoga philosophy relating to practice will be discussed. Learn about what to do in practice: sequencing postures, timing of postures, understanding and practicing the intricacies of asana (posture).  Learn to categorize the postures and to understand their effects.  Practice questions will be answered and explored. Principles of sequencing will be introduced.  We will finish with an open practice time to explore our own inquiries into practice.  Learn how practice can be inquiry into the nature of self.

This workshop is not appropriate for people who have never studied Yoga. Classes in the method provide a foundation for understanding and learning.
